The first point of your trip will be Areni. This is a whole cave complex, which is located in the village of Areni (Vayots Dzor province). This unique complex was discovered during archaeological research in 2007, which is still ongoing. And the artifacts found in it belong to several cultural layers, dating back to the Stone Age and to the Middle Ages. It was here that found an ancient winery, which is about 6100 years old. Here, in 2008, the world's oldest shoe sample was found. The monastery complex Noravank (13-14 centuries) is the pearl of the religious architecture of Armenia. Like many monasteries of Armenia, Noravank was erected in a picturesque place - among the magnificent red rocks above the gorge of the river Arpa. The dominant feature in the complex is the three-tiered Church of the Holy Virgin (the last creation of the legendary master Momik), which is the tomb of the princely Orbelian family and is also called Burtelashen in honor of Burtel Orbelian, who finances the construction. Finally, you will find yourself in the famous Tatev (monastery complex of the 9-10th centuries) - this is another masterpiece of architecture and landscape combination in Armenia, the monastery stands on the very edge of the Vorotan river gorge, its walls become a man-made continuation of the rocks, so the view of the monastery and from the monastery to the gorge amazing equally strong. The swinging pillar, which warned monks and local residents about either an earthquake or approaching troops, is also an amazing architectural element. Tatev Monastery is only part of a large tourist complex, which includes the world's longest cable car Wings of Tatev (length of 5,752 meters and height above ground of 320 meters). Then we go to the abode of the hermits Anapat, the so-called Devil's Bridge and the cave, through which a warm spring flows, forming cascade calcareous baths where you can swim. The duration of the tour can vary from 6 to 12 hours.
